Shalini founded Meivia in 2002, this after a decade spent in India and around the world as an entrepreneur working largely in IT and IT related services. She founded her first IT product company in 1994 using a RAD tool called Magic which had its origins in Israel. She has lived and worked in Israel,UK and New Zealand before returning to India in 2002 and making first Bangalore and now Hosur her home.
She was also a founding partner at Footprint Ventures, an early stage sector agnostic venture fund and has held consulting CEO roles in a couple of companies.
A nature lover and an avid birder, Shalini “balances” work and life living on a farm, raising her young son and
confronting her Israeli husband on a daily basis and commuting out to the urban jungles only under duress.
Shalini Elassery has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Fergusson College, Poona University, 1992 and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Kellogg-Recanati School, a joint degree from Tel Aviv University and Northwestern University, 2001.
